MEETING THE GOOD PEOPLE OF THE CAPITAL CITY
OSLO is a beautiful place to have a beer festival in the summer. Loads of people, lots of history, and tons of brewing knowledge and capable crafty brewers are nearby.
Its a nexus of some of the best beer Norway has to offer, and Håndverksølfestivalen is no exception.
60 breweries around a church plus good weather. Quite a nice festival to attend.
We showcased these beers in Oslo:

Getting covered in those shiney aluminum chips
This was our first beer festival of the season and second festival of the year. Previously we were at Trondheim Rocks with our lightweight modular bar.
To get ready for Oslo where instead of 3 meters we had 2, I had to drill and tap a few more holes in our 20/20 extrusion frame to give it more rigidity by cannibalizing the third section into support elements.
We covered our bar front with flowers and velvet, which gave us a very Gothic look. It looked good, but being a perfectionist and a creative; I think it was a bit dark for our image so our future bar will have more color.
The feature of this festival was our tall elegant infusion tap tower. We added stage lighting to the bar so it was easy to spot our new tower.
FROM THE PERSONAL ACCOUNT OF HEAD BREWER MIKEY MIKE
This was an awesome festival. Lots of great breweries at the same place at the same time under ideal weather conditions.
We got to show off some concepts we have been developing for awhile and it was fun to see them so well received. The take away from us at the brewery is that sour beer is definitely a sought after product as our Mango sour was the clear volume winner for us at this festival. Also the beer industry has some great camaraderie and Norway certainly has some tough competition – the beer scene here is killing it!
Hopefully we can come back next year with more new exciting concepts.

A nice surprise to find when we returned from the capital, our local shop was sold out of our beer except one lonely Pinade Pale Ale. Thanks Fosen!
